This 4-tier rotating bookshelf is a 360° space-saving book carousel tower that turns on its base, reaching every shelf from one spot in a corner or beside a desk. A conventional bookcase wastes its own depth: books go two rows deep and the back row is never read again. This Calmility carousel turns instead, so all four sides of every tier face you in turn and the entire collection stays one rotation away rather than buried behind itself against a wall.
At 43 by 43 centimetres square and 158 centimetres tall it holds a serious number of books in the floor area of a side table, which is what makes it work in a bedroom, a small living room or beside a desk. Each tier is 36.9 centimetres high, so it takes hardbacks and art books upright rather than restricting you to paperbacks. A carousel also works in the middle of a room rather than against a wall, so it can divide a space — a study corner from a bedroom, say — while still holding the books.
The frame is steel and iron with ecological board shelves, rated to 60 kilograms, and it weighs under 6 kilograms empty so it turns easily even when loaded. Assembly is required.
